Threat of Violence - False

This afternoon La Grande High School Administration received an anonymous report through a tip line that a student was talking to someone about "shooting up the school".  LHS administration immediately began working with law enforcement and we were able to quickly visit with students and determine that the threat was a false report.

While the situation is resolved, La Grande High School will receive a stronger police presence on campus in the coming days to address any lingering concerns and resolve potential rumors.

Due to the fact that this incident centered at La Grande High School, school staff and parents of La Grande High students were notified of the situation via our school districts automated phone call and email system near 4:00 today.

Student safety is our paramount focus; The district does take safety concerns very seriously and anytime school officials have information related to threats of violence, we will take each situation and handle it appropriately with the support of our local law enforcement officials.
