LGSD Mission Statement In the La Grande School District we believe every student can learn and deserves a safe, motivating, and challenging school environment. Therefore, it is the mission of the La Grande School District to provide a learning environment where educators work collaboratively to ensure that each student maximizes their learning. To accomplish this mission we will use best practices and data to ask and answer:
| Our Schools La Grande School District is located in La Grande, Oregon, nestled in the Grande Ronde valley between the Blue Mountains and the Wallowa Mountains of Northeastern Oregon. We have four elementary schools, Willow Elementary, which is home to all of our kindergarten classes, Central Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, and Island City Elementary Schools (grades 1-5). The district also includes La Grande Middle School (grades 6-8) and La Grande High School. We have a total student population of about 2100 students. | Our Community There are many opportunities for outdoor recreation in our area with the proximity of the Blue Mountains, the Wallowa Mountains, and Hells Canyon of the Snake River.
