The City of La Grande Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with the La Grande Arts Commission, is pleased to announce the installation of new public artwork on five traffic signal boxes throughout La Grande. Each piece was created by students from the five schools within the La Grande School District, reflecting the shared theme: “Honoring the Past; Celebrating the Present; Embracing the Future.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Greenwood Street and Adams Avenue. Students from Greenwood Elementary—whose artwork appears on that signal box—will join members of the La Grande Arts Commission and Parks & Recreation staff to celebrate the project.
