A change is coming to the La Grande School District (LGSD) texting app. Cell phone carriers have made an adjustment to their policies, so LGSD will be sending texts from the number 98900. Previously texts came from the number 98901.
On Friday, September 24, 2021, parents and guardians who signed up for LGSD's text notification system will receive a text stating, "Welcome to Messaging for La Grande OR by Apptegy. Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help & STOP to cancel.”
If you do not reply to this text, LGSD will continue to use text messages to communicate with those who are signed up for this service. If parents/guardians reply “STOP” and opt-out of text messaging, there will still be other ways to receive LGSD news and notice of emergency school closures – via phone, email, our website, radio, and social media.
