Student holding intact egg

Island City Elementary Fourth Graders had their annual egg drop on Wednesday, September 28th. With the help of OTEC and their boom truck over 40 eggs were dropped, with varying results. This tradition is a great opportunity for students to learn about physics, gravity and that the biggest crowd pleasers were those that bounced! A variety of creative techniques were used to meet the goal of an intact egg upon impact. The entire student body, as well as many parents and community members-even the Island City Mayor, were on hand to celebrate the results. Principal Brett Smith said, "It was a great day for Island City Rams to be together outside, and have fun with science!"
