March is Music in Our Schools Month, and there are some amazing people that make up the music programs in our school. Thank you for all your hard work. You may not know this, but music education in schools helps students develop critical thinking skills, confidence, social and emotional skills; as well as deepening their connection with the school environment.

WILDCATS GIVE BACK - FOOD DRIVE! Help us restock the community food banks. Students can earn one raffle ticket for each non-perishable food item donated. The winner will be drawn before spring break. Students can drop off donations by the front office before school.

LHS Girls Basketball Team are Greater Oregon League Champions for 2025! The girls' team beat Baker on Monday night in a close game that ended in 48 to 45. Congrats to our Lady Tigers!

Hi LMS Families! With state testing approaching, we wanted to inform you of a few ways we use those results. At LMS, state test results are a significant reference point as we consider student placement in some of our advanced math and English classes as well as when we consider intervention needs. We also use these tests to help us identify focus points for our instruction throughout the year. As testing season approaches, please encourage your kids to always do their best!

LMS will be holding an 8th Grader On Track Ceremony at the end of the school year this year! We will be recognizing all 8th graders that are on track for High School Success and future graduation! 8th graders who pass (D or above) all of their 4th quarter classes will be recognized. Please discuss with your student the importance of school success and make a goal to qualify as an 8th Grader on Track. More info on dates, times, and details to come.

WHAT:
A Community Resource Night to promote mental health, safety, and well-being. CHD, in partnership with the Union County Safe Communities Coalition will be holding a Resource Night for sharing hope and healing and promoting mental health, especially after experiencing a loss or a crisis.
This Resource Night will be a space where people can connect to resources and supports in times of difficulty, and find help for loved ones who may be struggling. This event will offer support by providing a space for community members to learn about grief and loss supports, crisis supports, and to connect with mental health and wellness resources. Many community partners will be sharing helpful resources and information. Members of CHD’s Behavioral Health team will be available to share information about what to expect after experiencing a crisis or loss of a loved one. Hope and healing is available, and our community has supports available for everyone in times of need.

The first Resource Night will take place Thursday, February 20th, 5:30-7:30pm

at the Presbyterian Church Friendship Center, 1204 Spring Avenue, La Grande.
