The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is an annually recurring federal grant offered by the United States Department of Agriculture.  This grant is designed for elementary schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program, with priority given to schools with a high percentage of students who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Island City Elementary, Central Elementary, and Greenwood Elementary are all recipients, which supports our efforts to expose La Grande's elementary children to a wide variety of interesting and amazing fruits and vegetables in their classrooms, all year! Learning about healthy foods together, while sampling and having fun, encourages a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
